Finishing LUTs are created to bring the entire sequence of shots to create a unified, cinematic style. They're less about injecting fresh colors into your projects and more about securing the entire sequence of shots to a consistent color palette.
The primary goal of every Finishing LUT is ensuring uniform consistency across all your videos as well as keeping color integrity intact, and a stylish look in the same order.
If you are using them as an entry point, in combination with other LUTs that you already have for example, or to add the last step in your workflow, finishing LUTs can help improve the process of color grading.
Note that finishing LUTs aren't conversion LUTs. In the event that you are shooting with LOG format or in a different color space, make sure you standardize the footage in Rec. 709 prior to applying a Finishing LUT.
