I've developed an addon that simplifies translating Blender designs into physical objects, particularly useful for items like cabinets. Traditionally, converting a Blender design to a tangible object involves tedious manual flattening onto wood sheets, which is prone to errors and time-consuming. While the addon doesn't support nesting, it significantly aids this process.
Installation:
- Download the zip file and install it via Edit - Preferences - Addons in Blender- no need to extract the zip file.
- Activate the addon from the N-panel under the Edit menu.
Usage:
- Select objects, ensuring they are separate and have applied scale and rotation.
- Press 'Disassemble' to duplicate and flatten objects in the XY plane.
- Flattened objects are color-coded, and rows share the same thickness, aiding visual organization.
- The 'Select linked' option selects objects with the same size.
Extra Options:
- Volume calculation for selected objects.
- Sheet options for creating cutting plans, including drag-and-drop functionality.
- Calculate remainder and stack-up options for efficient cutting plans.
- Export features for CSV and DXF files, enhancing compatibility with spreadsheet and CAD software.
Export Options:
- Export selected objects as CSV for spreadsheet analysis.
- Export objects as DXF for further editing in CAD software, allowing adjustments to scale for precise sizing.
