The SALSA LipSync v2 suite has undergone a complete rewrite, offering enhanced flexibility, improved accuracy, and advanced animation capabilities for character models. With the ability to mix and match blendshapes, transforms, sprites, textures, Animator parameters, C# events, and more, you can create limitless viseme and emote expressions with ease. Additionally, expression components can now be reused within and across modules without conflict.
The suite comprises three product modules designed to simplify 2D/3D lipsync, eye/head movement, and emote expression projects:
- SALSA LipSync: SALSA LipSync provides high-quality, language-agnostic lip sync approximation for both 2D and 3D characters. Featuring real-time audio dialog processing with lookahead technology, SALSA eliminates timing lag and delivers impressive results without the need for labor-intensive phoneme mapping or baking.
- EmoteR: The EmoteR module is a randomization engine that generates random, emphasis-timed, repeating, or manual expression animations. It seamlessly integrates with SALSA and Eyes to add emphasis emotes with audio-based timing, prioritizing emotes over other expressions. Emotes blend in and out smoothly using QueueProcessing technology.
- Eyes: The Eyes module focuses on eye, eyelid, and head animation and tracking. Character models can randomly look around or focus on target objects with advanced micro-movements to eliminate static stares. Users have control over vertical and horizontal saccade movements for enhanced realism. Additionally, eyelid tracking is available for models that support it.
The suite features custom component inspectors for code-free configuration options, while a simple API allows for behind-the-scenes accessibility from any Unity-supported scripting language.
